Arabic House Designs

Compensation: $15/hr or per project

Artist/Gallery in SoHo is looking for a part-time, freelance, IN-HOUSE graphic designer with book design experience. The first project is a poetry book in 3 languages for Amazon/Createspace.

The projects are Middle Eastern in nature so knowledge of Hebrew is a plus in addition to English. Arabic an extra plus.

Projects include designing a book of Middle Eastern cooking with poetry in Arabic, English and Hebrew, a Middle Eastern cookbook, an English/Hebrew informational brochure/booklet, a book of poetry/photography, posters of various sizes. Candidate must be able to quickly manipulate photos in photoshop, as we want to roughly sketch out ideas in photoshop before we finalize any designs.

The text for these projects is in NeoOffice format (a Mac-compatible "Word-style" word processing program that reads and displays English, Hebrew and Arabic).

CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO BRING THE TEXT FROM THIS FORMAT INTO THEIR DESIGN PROGRAM.

Proficiency in CS required.

Other projects include DVD packaging/gallery brochures/misc. design projects.

We have a Mac with CS 6 to use in-house.
